Fishguard & Goodwick Chamber of Trade

This GoFishguard website has been created by Fishguard & Goodwick Chamber of Trade and Tourism to help promote North Pembrokeshire and its businesses to the world.

The Chamber is a representative voice for the many businesses in the area and works to build co-operation for the benefit of all, and especially for the local economy. It is an integral part of our successful Town Team which pushes forward the dynamic local Development Plan, which is updated after each Town Team meeting. You can see a copy in the library.

The GoFishguard website is open for any business in the area to promote their goods and services, without their needing to be a member of the Chamber, and the What’s On section is happy to accept and publicise all important local public events free of charge.

As a Chamber member, you have a free page entry on the website and on the “Fishguard Bay Guide” App (available on Google Playstore for Android, and iTunes for Apple).

These two promotional tools present the area effectively to local residents and visitors alike, as well as people who haven’t even thought of visiting or moving to Pembrokeshire yet!

The Chamber’s largest current project is a two year tourism development project funded by the Coastal Communities Fund called Refreshing North Pembrokeshire. The project will develop the tourism economy in North Pembrokeshire from St Dogmaels to St Davids, by extending the season, supporting existing and developing new events and attractions. Three staff are working from an office at the Harbour Tel. 01348 872297.

This project links the Chamber with:

Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park

Pembrokeshire College

Pembrokeshire Tourism

Pembrokeshire County Council

Hanes Llandoch

St.David’s Peninsula Tourism Association

Stena Lines

Saints and Stones

Pembrokeshire College HND Business Studies students carried out a very valuable survey of attitudes and experience among residents of North Pembrokeshire to using Fishguard and Goodwick as their focus town for shopping and services.

This report is available in the members area of this site.

Volunteer members conduct ongoing surveys of businesses, for example: to enable the Chamber to promote August Bank Holiday eating and pre-Christmas opening arrangements.

In 2014/15 other Pembrokeshire College students will be surveying the staying-visitor experience in the twin towns and gathering baseline data on accommodation in the wider area.

Recent achievements from the Chamber’s lobbying include the continuation of the expended train service into Fishguard and Goodwick as a core part of the railway contract with Arriva, through the Chamber’s  involvement in the team that reported to the Welsh Government in summer 2014.
