Chinese menu: Friday & Saturday, orders from 6:30pm ~ 8:30pm
High Tea menu: Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 5:30pm (May ~ September)
Our Chef: Chef Jan Koi Ieng Chi. Chef Jan is an experienced Chef who has learnt her trade on both sides of the border. She is comfortable with traditional British as well as Chinese cooking with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and the use of herbs and spices to enhance seasonal dishes from both local shores as well as the Orient.
Speciality: Home Style Cooking. Examples of dishes include;
Thai Chilli and Basil Chicken, Malaysian Beef Rendang, Wok fried Bean Curd, Garlic Butter Prawns, Crispy Pork, Duck Pancake, Chinese style Dumpling, Mixed fried Rice, Long Life Noodles, Spicy Beef Curry…
Spices Chinese Restaurant Lounge and Bar currently serves SET CHINESE MENUS which are best shared between 2, 4 and 6 although parties up to 25 guests are always welcome. Our starter is a mixed platter of hot bites, 4 choice main course to help yourself and hot drinks to finish. We also have a chalk board dessert menu.
We also run a seasonal weekend afternoon snack and high tea menu of mostly home made bakery, scones, Welsh cakes with selection of hot drinks.
For parties, we can help with arrangements for up to 25 guest, serving both Western 3 course traditional as well as family style share menus. Come and have a chat and we will be only too pleased to try to help if we can.
We stock a wide variety of beverages; local beers, world wines and soft drinks at our licensed bar.
We feel that we are affordable and we want local residents as well as travellers to experience the freshest ingredients in our dishes that we can buy. Where possible, we try to use homemade or locally grown produce.
