Y Bwthyn Bach

Y Bwthyn Bach is set under the Preseli hills, hidden in a stunning 6 acre garden in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, beyond the garden it faces the hillside and moorland of Garn Fawr.  This romantic barn conversion is the perfect place to find peace and privacy. A counterweighted stair accesses the open sleeping loft, ideal for couples (but will sleep up to 4 if required). The modern kitchen and shower room, comfortable sofas and wood burning stove make the cottage a cosy bolthole that is hard to leave but when you do the sea and the coastal path are just one mile away.
There is free broadband WIFI connection, but no television.
Y Bwthyn Bach is filled with books and paintings and the owner’s Library in the garden is also available to you. Numerous tiny windows frame glimpses of the garden in which it is set. Secluded, private and quiet, ideal as a retreat or work place as well as for relaxing holidays, the garden is all yours, and pets are welcome too.

The accommodation is open plan with a sleeping loft under the eaves accessed by a counterweighted stair. There is one double bed and one single with room for a second single.  The nature of the cottage makes it ideal for couples, but we can sleep four people. For instance parents and 2 children, (who love the stair and the loft!)
Downstairs there is a modern kitchen and a shower room. Dining table, Welsh dresser and sofas round the wood burning stove. There is access to a freezer, washing machine and tumble drier.

WIFI connection is installed but there is no television. Radio (LW only), DVD and CD players are available.

“This is the place to forget your Kinnect box 360 and rediscover how to ride your bike. Just relax in a beautiful garden with a glass of wine and some good food cooked at your own pace with that book (or your kindle) that you’ve always meant to read. Exercise? You can always wander in the stunning countryside or walk off that picnic on the coast path (or just fall asleep at the cove at Cwm yr Eglwys). Anyway, this is just the place to relax!”

“We found Bwthyn to be the perfect place to get away from it all. From the cosy wood burning stove to the amazing garden, the cottage is a wonderful welcoming oasis set against the jaw-dropping Pembrokeshire landscape. For us, it was the little touches that made the difference. The beautiful Welsh tweed blankets, the well equipped kitchen, and the interesting artwork and books gave the cottage a homely feel. We will definitely be returning to Bwthyn in the near future.”

“We could not let the moment pass without writing to express our thanks for such a wonderful stay. It is rare that expectations are met in full and we were excited by the photographs and description of both the garden and the cottage. It was everything and so much more than we had imagined and hoped for. A true hideaway, quiet, tranquil, cosy and comfortable. We rediscovered silence and reading by the log fire, just the 2 of us (and of course the dogs!). No internet, no tv and no traffic. The views were unsurpassable and your glorious garden, sliding into autumn, was a pleasure to step into every morning. We saw the sunset over the Preseli hills and the Milky Way from the doorstep. When can we come again?”
